Sales & Implementation Internal Call
The purpose of the internal Sales to Implementation Handoff Call is to ensure a seamless transition from Sales to Implementation by reviewing the client's expectations, confirming project readiness, identifying any risks, and establishing a clear implementation strategy before the client kickoff.
Step 1 – Schedule the Internal Handoff Call
Once the client has signed and the implementation is ready to begin:
- The Sales Representative will schedule the Internal Sales to Implementation Handoff Call using the team's booking site.
- The meeting invitation must include:
- Assigned Project Manager
- Implementation Manager
- Stacy
- Sales Representative
- The meeting should occur prior to the client kickoff whenever possible.
Step 2 – Begin the Project Plan
During the Internal Handoff Call:
- The assigned Project Manager will begin completing the client's Project Plan.
- Initial project milestones, responsibilities, implementation priorities, and anticipated timeline should be documented.
- Any missing information identified during the meeting should be noted as action items.
Step 3 – Client Overview
Review the following:
- Company overview
- Primary client contacts
- Products and services purchased
- Target go-live date
Confirm everyone understands the scope of the project.
Step 4 – Discovery Summary
Sales will review:
- Client goals
- Business requirements
- Current payroll/HR provider
- Existing processes and workflows
- Unique implementation considerations
- Overall solution presented to the client
Implementation should ask clarifying questions as needed.
Step 5 – Sales Transition
Review all commitments made during the sales process.
Discuss:
- Client expectations
- Special requests
- Customizations
- Agreed-upon implementation priorities
- Future implementation opportunities and phased services
Confirm Implementation fully understands what has been promised to the client.
Step 6 – Implementation Readiness
Review the client's readiness by confirming:
- Required documentation received
- Payroll data status
- Employee data status
- Tax documentation
- Banking requirements
- Compliance requirements
- Benefit setup
- Timekeeping requirements
- Integrations
- Add-on services
- Overall kickoff readiness
Identify any outstanding items that could impact the timeline.
Step 7 – Risks & Escalations
Discuss:

- Timeline concerns
- Client expectations requiring follow-up
- Resource needs
- Possible escalations
Assign ownership for each identified risk.
Step 8 – Next Steps
Before ending the meeting:
- Finalize the Project Plan.
- Assign action items and owners.

- Confirm the client kickoff date.
- Ensure all attendees understand their responsibilities before kickoff.
Deliverables
Following the Internal Handoff Call, the Project Manager will:
